The Amazing $5 Corn Plant!

Continuing with the Snowy St. Patty's Day Post Extravaganza(tm)!, and the emerging theme of Pictures Of My Houseplants, here is a little picture and story of the $5 corn plant, because I can't leave a plant behind! We were at Home Depot the other day as we do sometimes, and they had a sale of large houseplants for $10. Lots of dracaena, which we already have quite a few of, and a few dieffenbachia which we also have a couple of already. There was also this corn plant, which was looking very scraggly and brown and sad. When we asked the lady if it was $10 as well, she answered that she would give it to us for $5 because no one wanted it and it was pretty sad looking. Sold! I took it home, cut off all the brown stuff, cleaned it up and put it in it's temporary home in an old dutch oven (temporary because we are moving soon so I will repot it at the new house, and I want to give it some time to recover before replanting it), sat it on a box in front of the window to get some light and look at how nice it looks! I forgot to take a "before" picture but I think it's looking pretty good!

The story of my purse, and today's sweet Winner's find!

Well my mom and I were out on our usual Tuesday shopping trip one day, and I picked up this BCBGmaxazria purse that I had seen before at Winners. It had been about $150. Well I looked at the tag and it had been marked down to *$40*! Well you can bet I grabbed it up, I couldn't believe right up until I was paying for it that it had been marked down so much, all for a little scuff on the handle! This is a $500 handbag! This was nearly a year ago and I'm still using it. It honestly is the only purse I've ever had that I've loved so much I never had a want to switch to a different one.

The second picture is today's Winners find, an Ed Hardy card wallet. I'm not sure if it is real ostrich leather because of the price but according to the labels it is real leather. It's a wonderful light brown that sets off the neon tattoo design, and the card slots and button tab are a yummy bronzy snake print. I'm in love!

My sewing box!

So this is my really nice new sewing box I just got, I found it at value village for only $5! And it's in like new condition. It's perfect for holding everything I need for my current project in my little stitching corner. You can see it open below, though you can't see whats in the top compartment I have pins and ribbon in one side and I use the other side for thread scraps. I love it! I use the top left compartment to hold the thread colors I'm currently using. Helps keep me from getting mixed up!
